"Green" Printing at It's Best!
At Greenwell Chisholm we recognize that the way we conduct our business has a significant impact to our planet. We have made many changes in our daily operations to support sustainable policies and practices. We have engaged our employees in our efforts and they share our green vision by not only participating at work but also bring aluminum cans and paper products from home for recycling. Our efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle is part of our approach to green printing.Here are some of the ways that we demonstrate our environmental commitments:
- Reducing the amount of our wastes
- Purchasing a machine where we mix our own custom inks reduces spoilage, storage, and transportation expenses
- Using inks that contain renewable resources of soy and vegetable oils
- Reduces the levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)
- Using alcohol free fountain solutions
- Reduces the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions by 60%
- Encouraging our customers to use our aqueous coatings verses the varnish coatings
- Reduces the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC)
- Water Miscible
- Reusing wood pallets
- Continuing our re-cycle efforts
- Annually we recycle approximately 244,000 lbs of paper product, 4000 lbs of cardboard, 3720 lbs. of aluminum from our press plates, and 126 lbs. of aluminum cans
- Attaining our FSC CoC certification and aligning our operation with the environmental interests of our customers by using labels that identify FSC certified paper for their printed products.
- We are members of the Kentucky Excellence In Environmental Leadership (EXCEL) organization.
Greenwell Chisholm recognizes that there are numerous opportunities for our company to implement more sustainability programs. We will continue to educate our customers on the importance of choosing FSC paper, inks that are renewable resources, finishes that are sustainable, and increase awareness in our work, home, and community of the importance of protecting the earth and its resources.
